Born in Hong Kong and raised across South Africa, Ireland and the Netherlands, Annemieke has long been interested in questions of identity, belonging, and what it means to call somewhere home. Now based in the United Kingdom, these experiences continue to inform her writing.

Stories of people in transition lie at the heart of her work, especially those negotiating loss, forming new connections, and finding ways to begin again in unfamiliar places.
